MISHAWAKA - Mary Lucille (Hammond) McCammon passed away September 10, 2015 at Center For Hospice Care in Elkhart, IN. Born August 29, 1933 in Traverse City, MI to the late Clinton and Eleanor Hammond.

Survivors include 2 daughters: Christine M (Kalena) Teal (Larry) of West Branch, MI, and Mary E (Kalena) Stevens (Ron) of Nashville, TN; 4 grandchildren: Crysta A Heart (Rob Reale)of Lansing, MI, Roger D Tabor Jr (Karen Griffon) of Mishawaka, IN, Timothy E Teal (Rebecca) of Brown City, MI, and Bryan K Webb (Alison) of Starkville, MS; 4 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren: Cody R Teal of Dryden, MI and Samantha A Teal of Almont, MI; 19 step great grandchildren, and 10 step great great grandchildren; 6 siblings: Arlene R Porter (Wade) of Sun City, AZ, Gerald Hammond (Sylvia) of Attica, MI, Betty Middleton (Jim) of Casa Grande, AZ, Mildred A Blackstone (Barry) of Sun City, AZ, Ruby M Hammond of Lapeer, MI, Clinton Hammond (Tami) of Choctau, OK; 13 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Phillip J Kalena, James V Kalena (1st husband), Melvin R McCammon (2nd husband), and sister Shirley Perry.

Mary was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 360 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, dancing, playing cards and Bingo! The family wishes to thank the caring staff of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Mishawaka and Center For Hospice Care in Elkhart. Thank you to family and friends for your love and support of each other during our time of grief.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Palmer Funeral Home - River Park 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend, IN 46615. Friends may visit, with the family, from 12:00 Noon until time of services. Graveside services and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola, IN 46561.
