Carmen Colon

Carmen Paula Colón, 80, residing in South Bend, passed away peacefully at 4:02pm on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Hospice House in South Bend. She was born June 7, 1936 in Lares, Puerto Rico to the late Maria (Acevedo) De Los Santos and Juan Colón.

She is survived by two sisters, Angela (Mario) Borelli of Granger, IN and Teresa (Gilberto) Arvelo of San Juan, Puerto Rico; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Luz E. Colón de Robles and Eloisa Colón de Cardona, and her brother, Baldomero Colón.

Carmen attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She worked in food services at University of Notre Dame until retirement.

Mass of Christian Burial for Carmen will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 2114 E. Jefferson Blvd, South Bend, IN 46617. Rev. Dave Ruppert will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame, IN. Palmer Funeral Home –River Park is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
