Carol Lynn Remble, 69, residing in South Bend, passed away at 4:48 am Friday, June 24, 2016 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. She was born June 17, 1947 in South Bend to the late William and Helen (Schmanski) Pecze and remained a lifelong area resident.
On October 1, 1966 in Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Bend, Carol married James R. Remble, who preceded her in death on March 24, 2014. She is survived by two daughters, Jill Monforte (Paul Singleton) of South Bend and Melinda Garcia of Mishawaka; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Monforte, Kenneth Karczewski and Meah Garcia; and siblings, Patricia (Robert) Wolf of Vonore, TN and William (Lynne) Pecze, Jr. of Loudon, TN.
Carol retired in 2007 as a secretary for South Bend Community School Corporation. She worked at Clay Intermediate Center for 17 years and Dickinson Middle School for 5 years.
Carol was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She and Jim loved to travel and went on numerous cruises. They especially loved cruises to Hawaii and the Panama Canal. She was an avid Notre Dame football fan and loved fishing with Jim and her girls. She also enjoyed crafting. Carol belonged to a card club with some wonderful friends for over 40 years. However, more than anything, family was most important to her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am Friday, July 1st, in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 5 - 7 pm Thursday, June 30th in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend as well as one half hour prior to mass on Friday in the church.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the St. Pius X Catholic Church Building Campaign, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN 46530. Online condolences may be left for the Remble family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
