Charles "Dallas" Springman

Charles "Dallas" Springman, 87, of Walkerton, IN passed away at 12:53 a.m. (CST)  Friday, September 30, 2016 at his home.  He was born on February 9, 1929 in North Liberty, IN to the late Charles Irving and Mary (Newcomer) Springman.  On September 11, 1948 in North Liberty, IN, he was united in marriage to Elaine (Bennett) Springman.

Mr. Springman is survived by his wife, Elaine Springman; four daughters, Gloria Jean (Steve) Eberly of OH, Diane (Ray) Wise of NC, Christine (Kelly) Stephenson of NV and Vickie Strycker of CO; son, Chuck (Debra) Springman of Walkerton, IN; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister, Joy (Larry) Fracki of MN; brother, Bill Springman of North Liberty, IN and sister-in-law, Mary Springman of South Bend, IN.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gene Springman on April 23, 2012.

Mr. Springman was a lifelong resident.  He retired in 1989 from Honeywell Corporation and previously worked for Studebaker.  He was also the owner of Springman Shellane Bottle Gas for several years.  He attended St. John Lutheran Church in North Liberty and was a member of the North Liberty Masonic Lodge.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.(EST) Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Palmer Funeral Home, 202 N. Main St. North Liberty, IN.  Rev. Vicki Blough, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, will officiate.  Graveside services and burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, North Liberty.  Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. (EST)  Friday where a Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. (EST) and 10:00-11:00 a.m. (EST) Saturday in the funeral home.
