Darlene Marie VanDam

Darlene Marie VanDam, 71 years old, passed away at 1:25 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Eastlake Nursing & Rehabilitation in Elkhart.  Darlene was born on January 30, 1944 in Chicago, IL and has lived in Elkhart for the past eight years, moving from Texas.  She worked in office work for 20 years.   Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Edward VanDam; and her parents, Ludwig Adamski, and Maude and Jack Marcus.  
 
Darlene is survived by her three children, Mary M. (Bruce) Gunderson of Bristol, Milissa D. (Randy Plummer) Richards of Walkerton, and Paul A. Maciejewski of Elkhart; four grandchildren, Amanda Maciejewski, Molly Gunderson, Timothy Gunderson, and Terry Richards; two great granddaughters, Arieana and Alivia Richards; the father of her children, Paul E. Maciejewski of Bristol; two sisters, Joan (Norman) Coyle of Oak Forest, IL, and Arlene (Scott) Ramsdorf; and her brother, Richard Marcus of Oak Forest, IL.  
 
A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Palmer Funeral Home, 202 N. Main Street, North Liberty.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday.
