Darrell D. Snyder

Darrell D. Snyder, 68, residing in Niles, MI, passed away peacefully at 10:55am on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Kindred Hospital in Mishawaka. He was born on March 3, 1949 in South Bend, IN to the late Ramon Snyder and Dolores (Benson) Holmes.

On July 19, 2001 on Mackinac Island, MI, Darrell married Karen L. Hauch, who survives. In addition to his loving wife, Darrell is survived by his son, Byron (Pamela) Snyder; grandchildren, Colin, Matthew, and Bryce; brother, Rodney (Patricia) Snyder; niece, Sheila Snyder; nephew, Seth Snyder; and a host of cousins and friends. Darrell is preceded in death by his brother, Rick Snyder.

Darrell was a police officer with the Niles Twp Police Department for 35 years. He enjoyed golfing and fishing as well as going to casinos and spending time with friends, grandchildren, his nephew, and his dog, Katie. He especially enjoyed traveling throughout northern Michigan and was an enthusiastic University of Michigan sports fan.

Celebration of Life for Darrell will be held from 1:00-5:00pm on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Niles Fraternal Order of Police, 600 N. State St., Niles, MI 49120. Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
