Edna Joanne Hughes

Edna "Joanne" Hughes, 91, of North Liberty, IN passed away at 2:10 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015 at North Woods Village Memory Care, Mishawaka, IN.  She was born on October 6, 1923 in North Liberty, IN to the late Hugh and Alice (Anderson) Fraser.  On May 10, 1942 in North Liberty, IN she was united in marriage to John Hughes who preceded her in death on August 16, 2004. 

Mrs. Hughes is survived by three sons, Tim J. (Mary) Hughes of Tucson, AZ, Gil M. Hughes of South Bend, IN and Barry S. (Joyce) Hughes of Plymouth, IN; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Iris Bulla and Lucille Koselak and a brother, Marion Fraser.

Mrs. Hughes was a lifelong resident.  She worked as a postal clerk at the North Liberty Post Office and retired in 1986 from Polygon - Plasteel after eighteen years.  She was a member of the North Liberty Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Palmer Funeral Home, 202 N. Main St., North Liberty, IN.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, North Liberty, IN.   Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
