Elijah Taylor Brooks

Elijah Taylor Brooks, 16, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015.

Elijah was born on July 10, 1998 in South Bend to Nathan S. Brooks and Danella R. Bishop and has been a lifelong resident of the South Bend and Mishawaka area. Elijah would have been a senior at Mishawaka High School this fall. He worked at the Martins Supermarket on Ironwood Drive near the St. Joseph River. Elijah loved playing basketball and listening to all kinds of music.

Elijah is survived by his mother, Danella R. Bishop of South Bend; father, Nathan S. Brooks of Mishawaka; sisters, Ariela Bishop and Sheena Brooks; brothers, Hunter Knepp and Quincey Brooks; maternal grandmother, Nicole “Nana” R. Newhard of Madison, WI; maternal grandfather, Dan “Papaw” L. Bishop of South Bend; paternal grandmother, Denise Brooks of Urbana, OH; paternal grandfather, Tim (Joyce) Brooks of Springfield, OH; aunts, Dominique (Jeff) Armstrong of South Bend and Jennifer (Dale) Woolwine of Elkhart; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Memorial services for Elijah will be on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Apostolic Temple Church; 2221 S. Ironwood Drive; South Bend, IN 46613, where Rev. Chris Rowe will officiate. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
