Gertrude M. Shinneman

Gertrude M. Shinneman, 81 years old, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 16, 2018 at her home.  Mrs. Shinneman was born on January 14, 1937 in Marshall County, IN to the late Homer Jennings and Sybil (Ranstead) Haas.  She has remained a lifelong resident.  On March 13, 1959 in Roann, IN, Gertrude and John Firestone Shinneman were united in marriage.  John preceded her in death on April 13, 2004.  Also preceding her in death was her daughter, Deborah Neirynck in 2005; and her brother, Donnie Lee Haas.

Mrs. Shinneman is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dean A. and Jeannie C. Shinneman of Rochester, IN; three grandchildren, Randall and Ryan Neirynck, and Rhonda Cudney; three sisters, Midge Bradford of California, Rowena Beery of Bremen, and Eunice Beery of Lakeville; and four brothers, Herbert Haas, Lyle Haas, and Ervin Haas, all of Lakeville, and Ron Haas of LaPaz.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the County Line Brethren Church, 69988 U.S. 31 S., Lakeville, in which Mrs. Shinneman was a lifetime member.  Pastor Wyatt Smith will officiate.  Graveside services and burial will follow at County Line Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church.   Palmer Funeral Home in Lakeville is assisting the family.
