Gregory James Riesenberg

Gregory James Riesenberg, 61, residing in Granger, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his children at 9:35am on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on September 6, 1955 in Cincinnati, OH, to the late Clifford and Mary (Rasche) Riesenberg.

Gregory is survived by his children, Ryan C. (Megan) Riesenberg of Mecosta, MI; Benjamin T. (Amber) Riesenberg of Chesterton, IN; Amanda L. (Jason) Jones of Goshen, IN; Mary Jane L. (D’Andre Mack) Riesenberg of South Bend, and his grandchildren, Erin and Olivia Riesenberg; Carson and Stella Riesenberg; Emma Jones; Anthony Mack. Gregory is also survived by siblings: Janice (Dave) Lammert of Cincinnati; Jon (Karen) Riesenberg of Cincinnati; Mark (Judy) Riesenberg of West Chester, OH; Jeanine (Jim) Powell of Mason, OH; Elaine (Steve) Mersch of Middletown, OH; James “Craig” Riesenberg of Milford, OH, Lynn (Jerry) Shelby of West Chester, OH; Gary (Ann) Riesenberg of Cincinnati; and Jay (Laura) Riesenberg of Cincinnati; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Gregory was employed as an assistant golf course superintendent at Pottawatomie Country Club in Michigan City, IN. He was a remarkable father and well-loved grandfather, affectionately known as “G.”

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at St. Pius X Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN 46530. Rev. Eric Burgener will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. The family will receive friends from 10am-1pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at St. Pius X Church.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Gregory may be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
