Jack Stoll, Jr.

Jack Stoll, Jr. 70, of South Bend, IN passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016 in New Carlisle, IN.  He was born on May 18, 1946 in Montgomery, IN to the late Herman and Agnes (Kauffman) Stoll.  On April 20, 1968 in South Bend, IN, he married the former  Judith Ann Grabner.  She preceded him in death on June 17, 2012.  On February 27, 2016 in South Bend, IN, he was united in marriage to the former Susan (Hoffman) Stoll. 

Jack is survived by his wife, Susan Stoll; children, Kim (Steve) Porter of South Bend, IN, Kelly (Andy) Tran berg of South Bend, IN and Kevin Stoll of South Bend, IN; stepsons, Steve (Kathy) Scott, Mark (Trisha) Scott and Bryan Scott; five grandchildren, Ashley (Brad) Van Oosterum, Austin Tranberg, Michael Porter, Austin Fair and Katie Porter, two great grandchildren, Carter and Colin Van Oosterum; step grandchildren, Carson, Alexis, Griffin, Jordan, Taylor, Jaden, Jay Lynn, Reagan, and Gunner Scott; sisters, Mary Lou Yoder, Martha Belle (Lyle) Burkholder and Jean (Burt) Lengacher and brother, Frank (Darlene) Stoll.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Judith A. Stoll and brothers, Bob and Bill Stoll.

Jack was a lifelong area resident. He was the owner of Jack's Excavating Company for thirty years. He was also the custodian at Kern Road Mennonite Church and snowplowed for several businesses.  He was an avid Notre Dame's Basketball and Chicago Cubs fan.  Jack was a member of the Naimoli Club at Notre Dame and member of the St. Joseph County Home Builders Association.  He enjoyed boating and watching Elkhart Memorial Girls basketball.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at Hudson Lake.  He had a generous and fun loving spirit; He made friendships to last a lifetime.  Jack had a deep commitment to his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at Kern Road Mennonite Church, 18211 Kern Road, South Bend, IN.  Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00-10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.  Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family with arrangements.
