Joseph M. Rayski

Joseph M. Rayski, 89, of South Bend, IN passed away on July 17, 2017 at Healthwin Specialized Care Center, South Bend.   He was born on December 25, 1928 to the late Joseph and Katryna (Wroblewski) Rayski.  On December 28, 1957, he married Beverly J. Marshall at the Broadway Evangelical United Brethren Church in South Bend, IN.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly on September 9, 2002 and sister, Adeline Piechocki in 2010.

Joseph is survived by nieces, Jan Effertz of Osceola, IN, Shirley (Chuck) Pritchett of North Liberty, IN and nephew, John (Nancy) Piechocki of Lake Village, IN.  He is also survived by grand nephews, Tech Sergeant Casey Pritchett of Arnold AFB, TN and Cody Pritchett of North Liberty, IN and his lady friend, Delores Sturgis of Warsaw, IN.

Joseph was a heavy equipment operator for NIPSCO retiring in 1999.   He enjoyed eating out, fixing up cars and garden tractors with his buddies and any good cowboy movie.  At the age of eighty-four, he took up ballroom dancing and won several awards in competitions.

A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2017 at  Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
