Joseph "Joey" Michael Roper

Joseph “Joey” Michael Roper, 43, residing in Mishawaka, IN passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015. He was born on August 26, 1971 in Mishawaka, IN to James Michael and Vickie (Gulatta) Roper. 
  Joey worked at Logan Industries, South Bend and volunteered one day a week, as well. He loved to bowl every Friday in leagues at Chippewa Bowl; and Joey loved fishing with his dad. In younger years, Joey played basketball and ran track. He attended the World Special Olympics at Notre Dame when Don Johnson was the guest speaker.
  Joey is survived by his mother, Vickie Roper of Mishawaka; two sisters, Teresa Roper and Karen Roper Beatty both of Mishawaka; grandfather, Victor Gulatta of Mishawaka; his special aunt, Candace Gorbics; and special cousin, Jaqueline Gorbics. Joey was preceded in death by his father, James Michael Roper on May 15, 2014; his maternal grandmother, Wanda Gulatta and paternal grandparents, Bernie and Faye Myers.
  Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Jeff Little, pastor of South Side Baptist will officiate. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 10AM until time of services on Saturday in the funeral home.
