Monique M. (Wertenberger) Kurtz

Monique M. Kurtz, 43, of South Bend, IN passed away on January 12, 2017 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.  Monique was born on July 13, 1973 in South Bend.  On September 11, 2015, she married Lance White, who survives. 

Monique is survived by her children, Abigail and Braden Kurtz of South Bend; her step-children, Grace and Lance White of Chicago; her parents, Michael and Colleen Wertenberger of South Bend; her siblings, Michael (Brenda) Wertenberger, Jr.; Melissa Dillard and Marc (Jenny) Wertenberger; her aunts and uncles, Janice Allsop, Lillian (James) Salyer, Gaylen (Jeanette) Allsop, Ruth Ann Watkins, Alfred (Sue) Allsop, Wayne (Judy) Allsop, Neal (LeAnn) Allsop, Cindi Rosenbaum, Dennis (Janis) Allsop, Sandra (Shawn) Bridwell, Robert (Linda) Allsop, Theresa (Art) Sears, Thomas (Dana) Wertenberger, Roberta Ross and Karen (Michael) Robison; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Sue Zambreto, Sharon Zack, Sandy Sneed, Lorne White and Larry White and her father-in-law, Gary Kurtz.  Monique was preceded in death by her first husband, Matthew Kurtz ; her grandparents, William and Rose Allsop and Pat and Robert Wertenberger and her uncle, Richard Allsop. 

Monique was a teacher at Jackson Intermediate Center.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, January 17 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  Services for Monique will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN.  Burial will take place at Southlawn Cemetery.
