Welcome to the memorial page for

Patricia Sue (Briscoe) Foreman

August 15, 1936 ~ February 25, 2016 (age 79) 79 Years Old
Patricia (Pat) Sue Foreman, 79, residing in South Bend, IN passed away at 11:23 pm Thursday, February 25, 2016 in Hospice House of South Bend.

She was born August 15, 1936, in Marked Tree, Arkansas to the late Edward and June (Dunehew) Briscoe. On February 27, 1955, Pat married William (Bill) Foreman and remained in the South Bend area for the remainder of her life.

In addition to her loving husband of 61 years, Pat is survived by daughters, Cindy (David) Osborne of Edwardsburg, MI, Linda (Jeff) Botich of Granger and Sheryl Foreman of South Bend; sons, John (Avona) Foreman of Edwardsburg, MI and Tim (AnneMarie) Penkala of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, Sarah (Aaron) Johnson of Granger, Joshua (Beth) Osborne of Granger, Nicole Botich of Minneapolis, MN, Sidney Penkala of San Diego, CA and Kendall Penkala, also of San Diego, CA; and six great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ambrosia Foreman in 2011; as well as her siblings, Reva Ryan and Billy Ray Briscoe.

Not one to sit at home, Pat started C & L Cartage in 1975 and spent many years transporting postal and military vehicles from AM General, LLC to Norfolk and Western railroad, where these vehicles were transported to military destinations.  Pat got much enjoyment from her “van and loading crew”.

Pat was the strongest of women.  As we watched her sleep during the last few days, we prayed that the peace that rested on her face would last forever.  We listened to her speak and hoped that we would always hear her words, her voice. We watched her fight so hard and prayed that our tears would dry, but we knew that it was time for her to go home.  So for all of the tears that she dried, the times that she helped, the love that she gave, and the sacrifices that she made, we grew up well.  Mom, we love you and thank you more than you can imagine.

The family would like to thank the Center for Hospice Care for the wonderful care that allowed Pat to stay in her home as long as possible.  The family would also like to acknowledge the peace they got knowing during Pat’s last 24 hours that was spent at the hospice house, the RN that cared for Pat was an immediate neighbor for over 50 years.  Extra appreciation to Pat’s niece, Teresa of Aurora, Colorado, who cared for her during the last week of her life.
