Raymond Miller, 71, residing in Osceola, IN passed away at 2:38 AM on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Ray was born on November 16, 1940 in Hartville, OH to the late John J. and Ida (Stutzman) Miller. He has resided in the Osceola area since 1965 coming from Elkhart, IN. On September 10, 1960 in South Bend, he was united in marriage to Carol (Mendenhall) Miller, who survives. Ray was a self-employed mason contractor for many years. He enjoyed volunteering for the Osceola Little League Baseball Program and served as a former president of the league. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed Notre Dame Football and Penn High School Football.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida Miller; son, Brent Miller; and sister, Katherine Rynearson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Miller; daughter, Ranae (Robert) Suth of Granger; daughter-in-law, Maria Miller of Brighton, MI; three sons, Brian (Sara) Miller of Mishawaka, Bob (Julie) Miller of Paris, IL, Brendon (Stacy) Miller of Mishawaka; fourteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Betty (Ron) Hoffman of Texas, Judy (Richard) Bales of Alaska; and two brothers, Mervin (Shirley) Miller and David (Linda) Miller, both of Elkhart.
Funeral services for Ray Miller will be 10:00 AM Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Pastor Bob Miller will officiate. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
