Robert A. Taylor

Robert A. “Bob” Taylor, 88 years old, passed away at 2:58 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at his home.  Mr. Taylor was born on December 28, 1928 in Plymouth, IN to the late Noble and Sylvia (Hunsberger) Taylor.  He has remained a lifelong resident.  On February 1, 1948 in South Bend, Bob and Marguriete E. Zentz were united in marriage. 

Along with his loving wife of 69 years, Marguriete, Bob is survived by their children, Sharon Oglesby of Bloomington, IN and Michael A. Taylor of South Bend; five grandchildren, Todd (Susan) Taylor, Kim (Chris) Nettrouer, Jason (Heather) Reynolds, David (Shana) Taylor and Casey (Tracy) Reynolds; nine great grandchildren; and three brothers, Jack E. (Jean) Taylor of Lakeville, Russell N. (Peg) Taylor of Lakeville, and Kenneth L. (Honey) Taylor of Cassopolis, MI.  Bob was preceded in death by his son, Mark Taylor, on November 4, 1977. 

Bob was the co-owner and operator with his brother, Jack,  of the second-generation family business in Lakeville, Taylor’s Grocery, for twenty years.  He retired in 1990 as a food broker for Sara Lee after twelve years of employment.  Bob was a faithful member of Faith Christian Chapel in Lakeville for the past 63 years.  He and Marguriete loved to travel and visited all fifty states.  He loved his family and supported them in all of their accomplishments. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Faith Christian Chapel, 20876 Pierce Road, Lakeville, IN.  Pastor David Herbster will officiate.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8th, at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
