Robert "Bob" Edward Kinas, Sr.

Robert "Bob" Edward Kinas Sr., 72, of South Bend, IN passed away in his home with his family by his side at 5:04 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015.  He was born in South Bend, IN on April 27, 1943.  On June 2, 1962 in Granger, IN he married Nora Ann O'Banion.

Bob is survived by his wife, Nora Ann Kinas along with four children, Roxann (Nate) Rettinger of LaPorte, IN, Kathy Hilliker of North Liberty, IN, Vicky (Kenny) Smous of South Bend, IN and Robert (Angi) Kinas, Jr. of South Bend, IN; ten grandchildren, William Thornton, Matthew (Tabitha) Moore, Derrick (Brooke) Smous, Brian Thornton, Cortney (John) Bella, Sara Kinas, Brittne Moore, Jeremy Kinas,  Shelby Kinas and Caleb Rettinger; five great grandchildren, Brayden, Presley and Wrigley Smous, Mason Moore and Payton Bella; sister, Margie (Russ) Herrod of TN; brother, Richard (Margaret) Kinas of Mill Creek, IN and sister-in-law, Kristine Kinas of North Liberty, IN.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Margorie (Mulhaupt) Boone and Edward Kinas and brother, Ronald Kinas.

Bob was a graduate of New Carlisle High School.  He worked for Kinas Drywall, Wagoner Oil, Walsh Kelley and was a foreman and cement finisher at Reith Riley for forty-seven years and retired from Local 101 in 2005.  He has been involved with the St. Joseph County 4-H fair for over forty years and served as a board member for the last eight years.  He loved camping, fishing, horse riding and loved spending time with his children,  grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home and one hour prior to the services on Monday.
