Robert "Bob" L. KozmerNovember 8, 1929 ~ September 8, 2017 (age 87)
Robert “Bob” L. Kozmer, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2017 at his home in South Bend. Bob was born on November 8, 1929 in Dowagiac, MI, to Louis and Rose (Kiacz) Kozmer, both whom preceded him in death.
On September 15, 1973 in South Bend, Bob married the former Barbara Witowski, who survives. In addition to his loving wife, Bob is also survived by his daughter, Linda (Mike) Meade of Hebron, KY, as well as his sister, Mary A. (Robert) Bauer of San Diego, CA, two grandsons, one great-grandson and two nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Mark Kozmer.
Bob was employed as a lab tech and draftsman at Miles Laboratories, presently Bayer, in Elkhart, where he retired in 1991 after 18 years of service. He was a member of St. Matthew Cathedral, Knights of Columbus Council #553, a 1948 graduate of Dowagiac High School, and served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Mass of Christian Burial for Bob will be celebrated at 10:00am on Monday, September 11, at St. Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami Street, South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Sacred Heart, Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Friends may gather at Palmer Funeral Home--River Park, 2528 E. Mishawaka Avenue in South Bend on Sunday, September 10th from 2:00–7:00pm where a parish rosary will be said at 2:30pm.
