William L. “Bill” Kline

November 9, 1946 – August 23, 2016

William L. “Bill” Kline, residing in South Bend, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in his home.  He was 69 years old.  He was born November 9, 1946 in South Bend as the only child of Chester & Marie (Howell) Kline, and was a graduate of James Whitcomb Riley High School, where he was active in the Drama Dept.

On August 7, 1999 in Mishawaka, IN, Bill was united in marriage to Paula Oakley MacCombie.  She passed away on December 12, 2007.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a cousin, Beth Donathen on March 21, 2016.Bill is survived by three very special cousins, Diane Clady of Lakeville, IN; David Donathen of South Bend, IN; and Peggy Patton of Mishawaka, IN, as well as several other cousins. 

Bill retired in 2005 as a driver and dispatcher for Checker Cab Company where he worked for 20 years.  He was a lifelong member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church, South Bend, and enjoyed singing.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Bill’s wishes were to be cremated, and he will be laid to rest at Porter Rae Cemetery, North Liberty, IN.  Arrangements are being handled by the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, and Southlawn Cremation Services.
