William "Bill" Landman

March 9, 1916 ~ February 25, 2015 (age 98) 98 Years Old

William "Bill" Landman, Jr. 98, of South Bend passed away at 10:10 PM Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN.  He was born on March 9, 1916 in Chicago, IL to the late William Landman, Sr. and Grace (Breham) Landman.  On January 14, 1940 in South Bend, IN he was united in marriage to Lucille (Gargso) Landman who preceded him in death on February 28, 1990. 

Bill is survived by two daughters, Susan Grenert of South Bend, IN and Linda Ellett of Omaha, NE and a son, William "Tom" (Diane) Landman of South Bend, IN.  He is also survived by four grandchildren, Beth Grenert, Bill Grenert, Stephanie Murphy and Jason Ellett; 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.  Bill was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, George Grenert and Bill Ellett and a grandchild, Tommy Landman; three sisters, Sadie Spelde, Grace Landman, and Henrietta Crum; and five brothers, Tako, Joe, Henry, Steve, and George Landman. 

Bill served honorably in the United States Army in World War II.  He retired after 20 years of service as a truck driver for Inland Distributing Corporation.  He was also a member of the Teamsters Local 364. 

Services will take place on Monday, March 2 at 1:00 PM at Palmer Funeral Homes - Guisinger Chapel; 3718 South Michigan Street; South Bend, IN.  Friends may call on Monday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.  Military services and entombment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend, IN.
