So sorry for your loss. Our mcdonals crew will miss him. He was a great man. Ill will miss him picking on me as i always picked on him. He was like my new grandpa.rest in peace you wonderful man.

Im am so sorry for your loss. He was the sweetest man ever. They were the best couple to enter resturant . We will all now miss there regular visits . I will miss pickin on him an him always picken on me. I am greatful that i met him he allways made me laugh. Rest in peace

In mid-August I was visiting in South Bend and Cheetah, Gene and I had lunch at one of his favorite restaurants: Ho Ping House. We were looking at the menu and Gene said: Gee, hmmm, I'd like to have the sweet and sour chicken but I'm already so sweet...! We had a delicious meal together with Gene telling about his working as a chef in the service and about how he met Cheetah. After lunch we drove to Niles and Gene and Cheetah showed me several of the places that had meaning for them. We had a great afternoon together and I feel so fortunate to have spent time with them. What a loss for Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, River Park and South Bend. I'm glad for my memories of this wonderful man. Barbara Schrop Taylor, Joanne Schrop Ash and Frederick James Schrop

Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family in the loss of Gene. He was a special friend through out all these years and although I haven't been able to meet for lunch as much as I would have liked, I will greatly miss seeing his smiling face at our high school get together's. God bless you all!

I don't even remember how long ago I started with Gene doing my hair. Always joking and smiling. Lately when he'd pop in while Darcy was doing my hair, it was always a treat. Thinking of your whole family...

A special person has now left earth to be in heaven. Gene was a happy, loving man. Always a smile to share. I'm very sorry. He will be greatly missed by many. My prayers and love are with you all.

Gene was like a second "Dad" to me, a wonderful man with a huge heart!. It was my greatest pleasure to have known him for so many years. What an amazing and touching surprise to see me listed as part of his family. I love all you and will truly miss him in so many ways but, will hold all the many many memories close to my heart. Prayers and hugs to all of the "Allen" family.
