Irwin Noel Jones

Irwin “Noel” Jones, 92, residing in South Bend, passed away peacefully at 1:00am on Monday, July 3, 2017 in South Bend Hospice House. He was born January 5, 1925 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Foster A. and Eva K. (Wiley) Jones.

On November 21, 1951 in Indianapolis, IN, Noel married the former Beverly Harris, who preceded him in death on May 16, 2016. He was also preceded by a son-in-law, Patrick Tingle; as well as his brother and sister-in-law Richard A. and Betty Jones. Noel is survived by four daughters, Carolyne J. (Paul) Wallace of South Bend, Marilyne F. (Ron) Conner of Evansville, IN, Darilyne A. Tingle of Maryville, TN and Wilma Katherine (Malcolm) Gold of Duncannon, PA; two sons, Noel E. “Eddie” Jones of Crossville, TN and Delmer R. (Linda) Jones of High Point, NC; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Del (Ann) Harris of Frisco, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

Noel was employed as District Manager for the Independent Order of Foresters, before retiring in 1984 after 20 years. He moved to the South Bend area in October 2016 after having lived in Tennessee for 19 years and southern Indiana for 13 years.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 5, 2017 in the Rockport Church of the Nazarene, 719 N. 7th Street, Rockport, IN 47635. Private graveside services will take place in Grandview Cemetery, Grandview, IN. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
