Jay attended House of the Lord Church in Plymouth for over 15 years. He sang Gospel with others for church services for many years. He was a great father to Abby and Daryl Minix and a grandfather to their children. He loved to camp and take trips to many different places and visited well over 40 of the United States. He had a great appreciation for history and the time era of the civil war. He so enjoyed the Deep South and the history of antebellum and the mountains of Colorado. His favorite place was camping on the Strait of Mackinaw Island. He loved to travel. Later he enjoyed a hobby he loved as a child and that was tractor pulling. He spoke kindly of all his family and friends and loved them dearly. He will forever be in our hearts and memories of happiness.

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 -

A few months ago I told Jay that as sad as it is that his time was going to be shorter than expected- I would do my best to live all my days to the fullest. Too much life is taken for granted. When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be!
