We are saddened to hear of JoAnn's passing. She was a godsend to our Aunt Gen and good friend to Aunt Eileen. We have never met a more caring, loving and compassionate individual. We will miss visiting with her when we were in the South Bend area. Please know she is in our thoughts and prayers.

I just wanted to tell you what a wonderful person JoAnn was. She was unforgettable in life, and I am sure she'll be missed by you all. I write this from Berkeley, CA., where I have been teaching for many years, but I still have fond memories of JoAnn. Rest in Peace.

We are sorry for your loss. Jim and I both lost our mother and we know the void it leaves. Comfort comes knowing she is in heaven with God.
My mom loved butterflies and every time I see a butterfly, I think of her and smile.

Mrs. Shirk(Bruland) was my second mom when I was growing up on Marion Street in Nappanee. Her son Mitch was one of my best friends and were in the Class of 1978. She was always cheery, upbeat, and fun. And made great cheese sandwiches. And I used to love the way her voice rang through the neighborhood when she would yell for "MIIIIIIIIIITCH" to come home(they lived two doors down on the other side of the alley). Rest in Peace Mrs Shirk. And thanks for leaving me with great memories.
