John befriended me at New Wings of Faith. We worked together on installing new windows. Such a gentle man. I look forward to meeting him again.

Martha and Family - So many wonderful things can be said about Doc's life - loving, giving, compassionate, passion for Christ and the lost, hard worker...on and on. His life was one that was well lived and an example of what a heart turned to God can accomplish. He will be missed on this earth but the legacy of his life lives on in the many people he touched. We pray God will comfort you in this time and rejoice that John is with our Savior, dancing. xoxoxoxo Sue and Bill

Martha and family,
Sorry to hear about John's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Blessed are those who die in the Lord Yeshuah.
My dad was known for saying "and this too shall pass". Our sorrow here will one day be turned to joy.

Shabbat Shalom.

We are sorry for your loss. We remember John and Martha as our supporting friends when we came to South Bend over 40 years ago. We appreciated John's caring medical service in the greater South Bend community. He was a good example of service for Jesus.

Dr. Byler was such an inspiration to so many people. His love for God and people was felt, seen, and heard in how he choose to live his daily life. He made people feel special and important. I respected him so much and, though we didn't talk often, the few long conversations I had with him (especially during the long drive on a mission trip to South Dakota)challenged me to grow and gave me a hunger to ask more questions. Mrs. Byler and family, you are in my prayers. Thank you for allowing your husband and father to give so much to so many of us.

Dr. Byler was a good man. I believe what was said of David could be said of him: "“Now when Dr. Byler had served God's purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep..." (Acts 13:36)

Uncle John, you and my father were the heroes of my life. I will never forget your comforting arm around me when my husband passed away in 2009. I will miss you always, love you always, and remember you always in my heart and soul. Martha, prayers are with your whole family. Love, Cyndie
