Steven Charles Schumann

Steven Charles Schumann, 69, residing in Mishawaka, passed away peacefully at 4:00 am Thursday, August 17, 2017 in Tanglewood Trace Assisted Living, Mishawaka. He was born October 8, 1947 in Melrose Park, IL to the late Walter and Rita (Garling) Schumann.

After high school, Steve earned his Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He worked as Director of Pharmaceutical Technology for Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company as well as Searle Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Steve was a longtime member of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Arlington Heights, IL. He was also a member of the board of directors for Second Wind Lung Transplant Association.

Steve is survived by his former wife, Charlene Schumann; his daughter, Rebecca (Robert) Casarez of South Bend; son, Scott Schumann of Mt. Pleasant, MI; granddaughter, Clara Casarez; and sisters, Patricia Lichte of Batavia, IL and Sally (Jim) Bergen of Rockford, IL.

Memorial services for Steve will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26 at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 916 Central Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 am until the service and a lunch will follow the service. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
