Douglas "Dude" M. Johnson

Douglas M. Johnson "Dude", 73, of South Bend, IN passed away at 2:54 am. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Memorial Hospital.  He was born on April 19, 1942 in Bourbon, MS to Albert and Ida L. (Bush) Johnson, who preceded him in death. 

Doug is survived by his children, Donna L. Johnson of OH, Douglas E. Johnson of South Bend, IN, Lee Ann "Rene" (Anton) Breveard of South Bend, IN, Kimberly Williams of South Bend, IN, Danny (Ellen) Williams of South Bend, IN, LaResha L. (Gino) Johnson of South Bend, IN; longtime companion, Aurelia Phillips; siblings, Rosetta (Willie) Corbitt of South Bend, IN,  John Johnson of South Bend, IN, George (Vera) Johnson of Moss Point, MS, Jerrie Crocker of Detroit, MI, MayLee Johnson of South Bend, IN, Queen S. Hamilton of South Bend, IN; best friends, Gaither Lineberger of Lincolnton, NC and Lynn Coleman of South Bend, IN.

Doug moved to South Bend, IN in 1948 coming from Mississippi.  He worked as a truck driver for Whiteford Trucking, retiring after twenty years of service. 
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 141 Camden Street, South Bend, IN.  Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday prior to the services.
