Jesse B. Noell

Jesse B. "Gramps" Noell, 93, of South Bend, IN passed away at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Valleyview.  He was born on November 21, 1923 in Madison, IN to the late Dallas and Bessie (Burden) Noell. 

Jesse is survived by his daughter, Donna (Justin) Miller of Arvada, CO: son, Ben (Patricia) Noell of Mishawaka, IN; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie (Dawkins) Noell; stepdaughter, Barbara Baker; granddaughter, Christina Miller; grandson, David Baker; three sisters, Sara Nighbert, Neva Stockdale and Nellie Noell and two brothers, Al and Don Noell.

Jesse moved to South Bend in 1938 and lived most of his life here. He graduated from Central High School in South Bend.  He served his country honorably in the United States Army.  He worked for Studebaker's, Wheelabrator and Gates Body Shop.  Jesse was a long time member of Oak Tree Community Church since 1954.

Funeral services will be held at  11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road,  South Bend, IN. Rev. Daniel Goepfrich will officiate.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
