Charles Raymond La Velle

Charles Raymond La Velle, age 69, residing in Granger, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born on March 29, 1947 in South Bend to the late William Raymond and Dorothy (Manges) La Velle. On July 4, 2005, he married Yoko Horiuchi.

Charles enjoyed working as a cabinet maker for many years. He created many finely crafted projects that will be cherished by those who received them.  He honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Charles was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He was known for having a fun sense of humor and was also known for telling a good joke.

Charles leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Yoko La Velle of Granger; their sons, Jon Charles La Velle of South Bend, and Stephen (Jennifer) Getz of Mishawaka; one grandson Renzo. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon (Ken) Wonnacott of Davisburg, MI and his brother, William R. (Ethel) La Velle of Niles, MI.

Friends may visit with family on Saturday April 1, 2017 for a Celebration of Charles’ Life gathering from 10:00 am -12:00 pm at Palmer Funeral Home ~ Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635. Where military honors will be held at 12:00 pm. Memorial contributions in memory of Charles may be made to Pet Refuge, 4626 South Burnett Drive, South Bend, IN 46614.
