Emily Ringenberg

Emily Ringenberg, 85, of South Bend, IN passed away at 4:29 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at her home.  She was born on April 2, 1930 in Cleveland, OH to Andrew and Maria (Winslow) Figuly.  On April 11, 1953 at the Scranton Road Baptist Church, Cleveland, OH, she married Rev. Ralph Ringenberg who survives.  They have enjoyed  sixty-two years of marriage.

Mrs. Ringenberg is also survived by her children, Roy (Marabeth) Ringenberg of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Quito, Ecuador, Ron (Frances) Ringenberg of Elkhart, IN and Rae (Melody) Ringenberg of Apopka, FL; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Dan) DeSalvo of Raleigh, NC, Peter Ringenberg of South Bend, IN; Ruth (Jason) Martin of Raleigh, NC, Ross Ringenberg of Elkhart, IN, Joe (Rachael) Ringenberg of Boston, MA, Nate (Carolyn) Ringenberg of Charlotte, NC and Joel Ringenberg of Apopka, FL; seven great grandchildren, Natalie, Claire, twins Cora and Amy, Zoe, Lux, and Joan; and her twin brother, John (Frances) Winslow of Tavares, FL.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Schoun, Bessie Ursell, and Anne Fleming and brother, Paul Winslow.

Mrs. Ringenberg earned her Bachelor's degree from Fort Wayne Bible College and her Master's and Educational Specialist degree from Indiana University.  She was employed as a school teacher for thirty-two years in Indiana and Illinois. She taught at John Glenn School Corporation in Walkerton, IN, IUSB in South Bend; Mooresville, IN; Indianapolis and Illinois. She was a member of St. Mark Missionary Church.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2015 at St. Mark Missionary Church, 55240 Bittersweet Road, Mishawaka, IN.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St.. South Bend, IN and one hour prior to the service at church on Sunday.
