SOUTH BEND – Felix M. Bernth, 61, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away at 12:52 PM Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, Indiana.

Felix was born on February 18, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Christian M. Bernth and Myrtle H. (Brendemihl) Bernth and has lived most of his life in the South Bend area.  Felix was a 1974 graduate of Washington High School.

Felix proudly and honorably served in the United States Army, stationed with Company C 1st Battalion 4th Brigade at Fort Ord, California.  Following his service to our country, Felix worked as a truck driver with Superior Waste Company for many years.  In his earlier years, Felix enjoyed playing fast pitch softball.  Throughout his life, he enjoyed bowling and loved animals.  He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, South Bend.

Felix is survived by his daughter, Jessica (Gary) Johnson of Bourbon, Indiana; son, Bradley Ewing of South Bend; four grandchildren; sister, Linda Gourley of Dowagiac, Michigan; and brother, Phillip (Mabel) Bernth of Granger, Indiana.  Felix was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Myrtle Bernth; sister, Charlene Arelt; brothers Christian Bernth and Richard Bernth.
