Gloria Costin-Scott, 83, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away Friday morning, May 6, 2016 at her home. Gloria was born on May 14, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Joseph Henry Costin and Isabel Collins Costin. She lived most of life in Peru, Indiana and Mishawaka. In 1953, Gloria was united in marriage to Daniel W. Scott. Daniel preceded her in death on March 24, 1999.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Kelley (Terry Sandusky) Scott of Ladoga, Indiana; son, Daniel J. (Sharon) Scott of South Bend; two grandchildren, Daniel Thomas (Krista) Scott and Sean Ryan Scott; three great grandchildren, Aubree Scott, Kalee Hampton and Skyler Hampton; two sisters, Anita Costin and Mary Costin both of Peru, Indiana; and three brothers, Jack Costin and Robert Costin both of California, and Bill Costin of Mishawaka. Gloria was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Ross Scott; granddaughter, Anita Marie Villagrana; grandson, Anthony A. Scott; and her brother, Patrick J. Costin.
Gloria retired from AT&T in 1994 after 40 years of service as an operator. Gloria was a member and 19th Star of DAR; charter member of National Museum of Women in the Arts; and member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She attended Sacred Heart Parish-Notre Dame. Gloria was in many parades driving antique cars.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN where friends may visit with the family from 1:00 PM until time of services. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.
