I remember when I first met Major Sedlar and his family. Some of the warmest and friendliest people I have ever met. They seemed to welcome everyone to be part of their family. All of the fun times we had. Thank you for helping me be a better person. My prayers go out to all of you.

Dear Deb, Winnie (Mrs. Sedlar) Sharon, Faith, Heidi, Debbie, Grace, Betty, and extended Family.

I am so incredibly sad at the passing of your husband/dad. I met your lovely parents just about 50 years ago when I was 7. They changed my world and introduced me to The Salvation Army which I have been a part of in one way or another ever since. More importantly they introduced me to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They were examples to me and my brother, they were friends to my parents and they were a shining example of Salvation Army Officers. On behalf of all of the lives they touched mine, Harry Dotson, Darroyl Gullen, Ed Ford, Terry Bishop, Chuck Youngfleisch, Dave and Pat Huey, Harry Johnson the list goes on, rest in piece Major (Mr. Mervin) Sedlar, and to Mrs Sedlar, Winnie we love you and you are in our prayers

My first contact with the Sedlar family was in WPA in the mid-70s. It's a family you don't forget once you've met. To this day, I am most grateful for the kind man that Merv was. He showed that kindness to my parents, for which I am most grateful. Merv has given to those who knew and loved him, the best memories. Those who walk with God always reach their destination and our friend has been welcomed Home. May God continue to bless and comfort the Sedlar family.

Merged was so wonderful during our time as Corps Officers in Old Orchard Beach. I can almost still see him at the organ with Mrs. brigadier Phyllis Berkhoudt across the aisle at the piano. Somehow they both seemed to always be in sync and just knew the appropriate prayer choruses to play during the prayer time. We followed their lead. He also painted our quarters and did an amazing job. He also sold our Tricia her first car....for $1.00 ....., what a guy. Thought of Merv and Winnie often......Winnie we love you and will be praying for you. Psalm 30:5

What a wonderful and gentle man of God. Who could ever forget his music! Notes directly from the Lord! How he impacted my young life as a young Salvation Army musician, listening to him playing that wonderful piano so effortlessly. Well done Mervin, give a big hug to Jesus for me. Blessings.

Saddened by Merv's passing. I have many happy memories of our times together in various appointments that Isabelle and I had near Wyn and Merv's. I especially remember your care when my father died. Be assured that I will pray for God's comfort for Wyn and family.

What a wonderful witness and honorary uncle he was to me. All the memories I have of him preaching, singing, playing the organ...I can't imagine my life without Uncle Merv's and Aunt Wyn's influence. All my prayers and love goes out to the Sedlars.
