SOUTH BEND, IN:  Mildred Mae Hurdt, 79, residing in South Bend, passed away at 11:52 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at Trailpoint Village, South Bend. 

Mildred was born on May 13, 1937 in Morristown, Tennessee to the late Millard & Mattie (Wells) Wolfe, and has lived in the South Bend area since 1984, coming from Akron, Ohio.

On June 13, 1959 at the Akron Baptist Temple, Akron, OH; she was united in marriage to James Cecil Hurdt, who preceded her in death on April 3, 2012.  Mildred worked for many years as a seamstress.  She attended Lakeside Baptist Church, Lakeville, IN, and the Akron Baptist Temple, Akron, OH.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Marianne Hurdt, and her son James (Sharon) Hurdt, both of South Bend.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Elyssa and Brandon Hurdt.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Mattie Wolfe; her loving husband of 52 years, James Cecil Hurdt; two sisters, Marianne Brinkley and Katie Bisko, brother, Joe Wolfe, half- sisters, Helen & Alice Wolfe, and half-brothers, Jim and Gene Wolfe.

Funeral services for Mildred Mae Hurdt will be at 12 Noon, Wednesday, October 26, at Lakeside Baptist Church, 515 Lake Trail, Lakeville, IN; with Rev. Vito Rulli officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Lakeside Baptist Church, or to Community Baptist Church, 5715 Miami Road, South Bend, IN 46614.  Online condolences may be sent to www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
