I was saddened to see Pat's obituary in the South Bend Tribune. It was a joy working with him doing shuttles on Thursday & Friday evenings at Towne Air Freight. Just to look at him, you could see the wheels turning in his mind, and you were about to get a word of wisdom. One tidbit of wisdom he would give me was, "George, you need to cultivate a conscience!" To which I attempted to comply. Seriously, the good Lord brightened my path by allowing Pat Downey to be a part of it. Though we knew one another a relatively short time, I considered him a good friend! May the good Lord pour out extra special grace upon his family at this time.

Pat and I were friends in high school. After that I went out to California and we didn't keep in touch. But Pat was a good friend back then. THE BEST. Sue, my thoughts are with you and your kids and grandkids now. May his memory be a blessing.
