I am so saddened by Robert's passing. We had found one another again after many many years and I so enjoyed our recent phone conversations and email exchanges. I have fond memories of Bob from my youth and later when I was in Milwaukee and Vienna, Austria working. He was a gifted musician who remained curious and eager to learn. Condolences to his family.

How crass of me -- albeit completely unintentional! -- that I came across the sad news of Robert's passing only a few hours ago as I was browsing ebay and found the listing of a converted tuba with a photo of a tubist who appeared to be Bob playing the instrument. What a tragic loss to us lower brass players. Not merely a fine craftsman but an excellent musician, Mr. Rusk! He will be grievously missed. Sincere condolences from one who deeply regrets this loss. dm

My condolences to the Rusk family. Bob was one of the finest musicians and teachers I have known. Bob taught me many important concepts, including aspects of instrument design. I will always be indebted to him - thank you, Bob ...

My sincere condolences to Robert's family. I was saddened to hear of his passing. Robert and I were married from 1978- 1980. We were friends before our marriage and were colleagues in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. I listened to an extensive interview of Robert today given by prominent fellow musicians, and was glad that he had had a busy and happy life after leaving the Orchestra.

This is very sad news and my deepest sympathies to Bob's family. We played in the MSO together and also shared a house for 5 years. Bob was a marvelous musician who played tuba extraordinarily well. I heard him practice every day. His room was down stairs under mine. He loved to play very difficult cornet solos. Bob was also a very fine flute player. RIP Bob
Dennis.

It was a privilege to play in a brass quintet with Bob. May you rest in peace.

My condolences to the Rusk family. May it help you and your family to know that Isaiah 61:2 read: God...will comfort all who mourn. Please find some strength and comfort from knowing that you have Him to give you the strength to continue on in your time of need.
