I was fortunate to be able to visit Kelly every other week after she moved to the Inn, though we hadn't been close before that, except by both being diabetic. Her zest for life and interest in the greater world never flagged. She loved going outside. She always wanted to know what was going on in the People of Praise. She frequently commended the kindness of those who provided her care. Even Monday, despite her pain and physical agitation, she responded wittily and appropriately to several things I shared, and was clearly praying along. I appreciated the fact that she always let me know when she was too weary to continue a visit. On Thursday, she heard a beloved voice saying, "It's time," and hasn't stopped smiling since.
