Was so sorry to hear of Shane's passing. Shane was a great teacher and a friend. I enjoyed our time together at Michigan City Schools. Hiring Shane as an Industrial Arts teacher was one of the best decisions I made as an administrator. He will be missed by many.

I'll miss a best friend of 50 years. He was the person that was always there for me when I needed him. I'm so glad that I stopped to talk with Shane just a couple of days before he passed. We talked about reconnecting in our retirement, now we'll just have to wait till we see each other next.

May the perpetual light shine upon him. Shane was an amazing person. Just an all-around "good guy" that had an amazing taste in cars. He always made me laugh...so many good times throughout the years. I wish I could have laughed with him one last time. You will be missed so much, Shane. Rest easy, homie.

In middle school I was placed in wood-shop class by accident. I was immediately planning to drop the class, but then I met Mr. Hostetler. I ended up taking wood-shop three times between middle school and high school just to have him as a teacher. I also ended up taking a random class just because he taught it. He was so patient and so loving towards all of us. He will be missed.

Ginger,
I am so sorry to hear about Shane. While I hadn't seen him for several years, the last time I did he was the same sweet, pleasant Shane that I remember from "our youth". He was always a good guy and I am sure he will be missed by many. Love to you, Ginger.
