Myron Ransom, 93, residing in Granger, passed away at 7:48 am Thursday, January 1, 2015 in Hospice House, South Bend. He was born July 11, 1921 in Spades, IN to the late Raymond and Luella (Gall) Ransom.

Myron served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He worked as a barber his entire lifetime and has lived in the South Bend area for 70 years.

On August 26, 1943 in Batesville, IN, Myron married the former Esther Simmermeyer, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his only sibling, Cecil Ransom.

Myron is survived by five children, Linda (Sam) Sampieri of Windemere, FL, Michael (Sharon) Ransom of South Bend, Cheryl (Greg) Rafalski of Edwardsburg, MI, Anne Shirk of South Bend, IN and Carolyn (Allen) Nolte of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Military honors and graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
