Roberta Howard, 94, of North Liberty, IN passed away at her daughter's home surrounded by her family at 5:15 PM Wednesday, February 25, 2015. She was born on December 5, 1920, in Royalton, KY to the late William and Aggie (Howard) Rice. On June 27, 1940 in Carver, KY she was united in marriage to Harris Howard who preceded her in death on June 15, 1995 after 55 years of marriage.
Roberta is survived by two daughters, Ellouise (Joe) Steele and Myra (Doug) Kaser both of North Liberty, IN. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Randy (Suzanne) Hummer, Lori (fiancé Brent Chamberlain) Hummer, Sherri (Vic) Solmos, Rick (Tabitha) Hummer, Brian (Kim) Kaser, Tony (Kara) Kaser and Andy Kaser; 14 great-grandchildren; Lindsey (Andy) Tropp, Bryce Hummer, Preston and Zachary Krause, Brody and Brock Solmos, Azaryah Hummer, Cole and Leah Kaser, Anthony and Alex Kaser, and Grace, Silas and Zalia Kaser; and two great-great grandchildren, Tanner and Tucker Tropp. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, Ailene Mlekodaj and Catherine Rudd and one brother, William Rice, Jr.
Roberta was an active member of the First Baptist Church in North Liberty. She retired in 1984 from Well Aluminum Corporation in North Liberty, IN.
Services will take place on Monday, March 2 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church; 407 Elm Street, North Liberty, IN 46554 officiated by Pastor Wayne Joyner. Friends may call on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Palmer Funeral Home, 202 North Main Street, North Liberty, IN 46554 and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Graveside services and burial will follow services at Westlawn Cemetery in North Liberty, IN.
