To the Lloyd family:

I just wanted to send along some personal condolences and prayers to comfort you. I've known Jack for almost half a century, having met him when I was a student-assistant in the Notre Dame Sports Information Office with his good friends Roger Valdiserri and Bob Best and then after I became a sports writer following graduation, covering football, golf and hockey. Jack was a good friend and he was one of mentors I had at Notre Dame and then upon graduation. He always was so kind and had a wonderful sense of humor; his laughter was infectious. Please know that he will be waiting for you all when you join him in Heaven. Until then, I'm sure, God, Jesus and Mary have plenty for him to do.

Peace.

To the kids and the grand kids,
Major Lloyd was a good friend and an excellent staff Officer. We spent many good times together in Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. You could always expect him to do the job and to do it well. But I expect you know that!!

Dear Lloyd Family-
We were shocked and saddened to hear about the loss of your beloved father, and grandfather. We did not know him personally but we appreciated everything he did for our family when we were tenants of his at College Square Plaza while we were operating Stone's Old-Fashioned Donuts. He was always kind and understanding and helped us out tremendously especially during 2009 at the height of the recession. In addition, our daughter, Cassie Webb, was a classmate of Jimmy Smogor's at St. Anthony's. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Most sincerely and in greatest sympathy,
Felicia & Chuck Stone and Cassie Webb
