June E. Tibbetts, residing in South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Thursday morning, December 16, 2010 in her home. She was 86 years old. She was born on December 28, 1923 in Kalamazoo, MI, a daughter of George Washington and Esther (Slack) Bedell.   On July 30, 1950, in Kansas City, MO, she married William H. Tibbetts, who survives.   They enjoyed sixty years of marriage.
 
Mrs. Tibbetts is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Dennis Potoczky of El Paso, TX; daughter-in-law, Jill Tibbetts of South Bend, IN; four grandchildren, Lori Potoczky, Aaron Potoczky, Alicia Tibbetts and Jason Richter and two great grandchildren. A son, William preceded her in death in August 1991 and  granddaughter, Amanda Joy Potoczky on September 2, 2002. Her parents, three sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Tibbetts lived in the local area since 1968 coming from Three Rivers, MI.   She was a graduate of Owosso Bible College in Owosso, Michigan, and Eastern Nazarene College in Boston, MA. Her first teaching assignment was in an old fashion country school house in Owosso, MI. Mrs. Tibbetts was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in South Bend.
 
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 in the First Church of the Nazarene, 51690 N. Ironwood Drive, South Bend. Rev. Dave Bartley will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend is serving the family.
