Edward Phillip Klatt residing in Mishawaka, passed away at 9:27 AM Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Milton Home. He was born September 14, 1919 in Mishawaka to the late John Klatt and Lula (Willard) Klatt. On March 20, 1948, in Mishawaka, IN, he married Gladys (Estes) Klatt who preceded him in death on August 23, 2014.
Mr. Klatt is survived by his daughter, Becky Goldsmith, of South Bend, IN; daughter-in-law, Kim Klatt of Mishawaka, IN; son, John (Jeanette) Klatt of Salem, AL; five grandchildren, Aaron Baletine, Andrew Klatt, Amy Klatt, Kimberly (Charles) Harper and Michelle Milligan; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mr. Klatt is also survived by a sister, Gertrude Cooper of Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 66 years, a son, Stephen Klatt, a granddaughter, Candi “Shelly” Lundgard and a sister, Mary Meyer
Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He worked as a machinist at Bendix before retiring. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and the best great papa ever.
Private interment will take place at a later date at Southlawn Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home - River Park and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
