Kim Shelley Hockett-Martin-Rombkowski, 59, residing in South Bend, IN passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015 at her daughter’s home.
Kim was born on July 6, 1956 in Sacramento California to the late Ralph C. and Patty (Holford) Hockett. On November 5, 2010 in Mishawaka she married Arthur R. Rombkowski.
Kim was an LPN for over 25 years, she enjoyed working at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, IN; Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation in South Bend, IN and Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley, CA. Although taking care of people was something Kim really loved, her real love in life was traveling with husband in the R.V. She was an awesome grandmother to Lauren, Hayden and Hunter Martin of Elkhart, IN; Brianna Hille and Adriana Cook both of South Bend; Luke Rombkowski, Jacob and Isabella Ruiz all of South Bend. Kim’s former husband Rod D. (Wendy) Martin of Elkhart. Her best friend and faithful companion, Maisie, the most wonderful dog and of course all living creatures great and small!
At Kim’s request, there will be a celebration of life service at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home and Southlawn Cremation Service are assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
