Louis A. Annis

Louis A. Annis, Jr., 87, passed away at 2:45am on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Hearth at Juday Creek in Granger. He was born on November 13, 1929 in St. Joseph County, IN to the late Louis A. and Mabel M. (Hygema) Annis.

On November 10, 1972 in South Bend, Louis married Audry F. Whitinger Annis, who preceded him in death. He is survived by daughters, Lynn E. (Burnette) Howard of Osceola, IN; Kathy M. Rogers of Nappanee, IN; son, Lon L. Annis of South Bend; step-daughter, Marsha K. Gordon of Schereville, IN; step-daughter, Debbie (George) Tezich of South Bend; step-son, James (Chris) Magneson of Windemere, FL; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Nelson E. Annis of Lakeville, IN. In addition to his parents and wife, Louis was preceded in death by his son, Steven A. Annis, as well as his step-daughter, Leanne Hipskind.

Louis was self-employed as owner/operator at Pepperidge Farm Cookies, retiring in 1993 after fifteen years of service. He was also employed as an accountant with the former Associates and enjoyed attending their annual reunion dinners. He attended Grace United Methodist Church. He was a member of Moose Lodge as well as a Saturday morning breakfast club at Honkers.

Funeral services for Louis will be held at 6:00pm on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Palmer Funeral Home—Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46614. Rev. David Schrader will officiate. Louis will be laid to rest privately at a later date at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00pm on Monday prior to services at the funeral home.
