Paul A. Kemble

November 15, 1928 ~ June 16, 2016 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Paul was born November 15, 1928 in South Bend, IN.  He was the oldest son of LeRoy Kemble and Roberta (Dovel) Kemble.  His brother, John (Betty) Kemble of Arkansas and sister Marilyn Biddle of Hawaii, survive.

In 1949, Paul married Vernette Holm of South Bend, who died in 1994.  Together they had three children, David (Valerie) Kemble of Plymouth, Bethany Kemble of South Bend and John Kemble, who died in 1998.  In 1995, Paul married Miriam (Mangus) Springer, who died in 2013.  Paul had two granddaughters, Kimberley (Matt) Rippey of Goshen and Katrina Kemble of Chicago; two great-grandsons, Neil and Justin Rippey of Goshen.

Paul graduated from Lakeville High School in 1946, where he studied agriculture.  After graduating, Paul took Young Farmer courses at Purdue University.  His interest was in dairy farming and in 1951 he became herdsman for former Chicago Bears and Hall of Fame football player, Ed Healey.  Paul managed Mr. Healey's farm and prize herd of Guernsey cattle at River Brook Farm west of Niles, MI.  In 1959, Paul became partners with Clayton McCoy, also of Niles.  It was there that Paul developed a very successful farm and fine herd of Holstein cattle.  Dairy farming was his true passion.

Paul was a long-time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Niles.  Later, after moving to Plymouth, he became a deeply devoted and loved member of Pine Creek Church of the Brethren.
